BON Luxury Theme Park Reimagines the Family Vacation

Aug 14, 2026 | Destination Inspiration

At VidantaWorld Nuevo Vallarta in Mexico, multigenerational groups can mix theme park excitement with golf, beaches, spas, dining and upscale accommodations

Theme parks and luxury rarely occupy the same vacation conversation. One promises rides, entertainment, spectacle and family fun; the other suggests ample space, attentive service, relaxation and elevated dining. VidantaWorld Nuevo Vallarta in Mexico believes travelers shouldn’t have to choose between them.

What is BON?

VidantaWorld Nuevo Vallarta has created BON Luxury Theme Park, designed around the idea that luxury and family-friendly fun can coexist at this $1.3 billion deluxe destination. However, BON is not merely a luxury amusement park. It sits inside a 2,500-acre luxury resort ecosystem that offers something for every generation.

Opening in fall 2026, BON (short for Beauty of Nature) will be the world’s first luxury theme park, located along Mexico’s Pacific coast in Nayarit, near Puerto Vallarta. It will be part of VidantaWorld Nuevo Vallarta, situated between the stunning backdrops of the Sierra Madre Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

The best part about the entire property is that not everyone has to spend every day in the theme park. For travelers who know Nuevo Vallarta as a beach and resort destination, BON adds something new. It is not just a park designed to entertain children while adults watch. It’s part of a larger experience, where grandparents can visit a spa or golf course, young children can enjoy pools and family amenities and thrill-seekers have plenty of coasters and rides to choose from. Afterward, everyone can reunite for dinner at any of the property’s 35 restaurants and enjoy a Cirque du Soleil Land experience.

What “Luxury” Actually Means Here

At BON, luxury begins with space. Upon opening in the fall of 2026, access will initially be limited to guests of VidantaWorld Nuevo Vallarta. This strategy is designed to keep attendance lower, thus reducing crowding and long waits associated with traditional amusement parks. It isexpected to be open to the general public in 2027, so early bookings will maximize the experience.

Top-tier service is another aspect of the experience. Instead of reserving elevated amenities for guests who purchase premium or luxe upgrades, BON is designed around a personalized hospitality experience and attentive service throughout the park.

The design philosophy will also contribute to the luxury feel of the park, especially appealing to multigenerational groups. Accommodation options, dining, transportation, entertainment and recreation are all part of VidantaWorld, so family members can enjoy unique activities without stressful logistics.

The park’s overall design reinforces a slower-paced approach, with attractions surrounded by lush tropical landscaping and natural scenery, while the resort’s exquisite walkways and SkyDream Parks Gondola connect different areas of the property for easy and enjoyable travel.

Rides and Experiences for Every Generation

The luxury nature of BON is what elevates it above other theme parks, but it is not the only reason this is worth a visit.

Plans call for five themed lands – BON Plaza, Fantasy Gardens, Empire of Light, Land of Legends, and the Cirque du Soleil Zone, 23 attractions, 25 restaurants and 16 shops, featuring something genuine for people of all ages and interests. The attractions are being designed and developed by major names in the themed-entertainment industry, such as Zamperla, Mack Rides, Intamin, Vekoma and others. For multigenerational family groups, the advantage here is variety.

Family-friendly attractions include Izari’s Flight, a coaster that takes riders through a crystal cave from the unique perspective of a magical iguana, and Floresta Drop, a gentler take on the classic drop tower. Take the SkyDream Parks Gondola, currently operating, which provides a calm way to see the resort from above.

More adventurous families can look forward to attractions such as Ashara: Goddess of Fire, a roller coaster filled with twists and turns, and Tempest Towers, a dueling pair of dramatic drop towers. Toca Tambo Falls provides visitors with an interactive twist to the traditional water-flume ride, challenging teams to drum in harmony as they compete together.

With three generations traveling together, this range matters. Grandparents, parents, teenagers and young children can all have their own experiences that don’t require the same skill levels or interests, in one place.

Cirque du Soleil LÚDŌ

One of VidantaWorld’s most ambitious experiences is already welcoming guests for a one-of-a-kind aquatic dinner show. The Cirque du Soleil LÚDŌ is a permanent show created for VidantaWorld Nuevo Vallarta and is presented inside a custom-built theater. Guests are surrounded by towering aquarium walls and nearly 360-degree views of acrobatics, immersive storytelling, underwater imagery and dining.

The theater itself is also part of the overall experience, with the custom $200 million venue seating 696 guests and incorporating a 360-degree water stage and wraparound aquarium. LÚDŌ is Cirque du Soleil’s first aquatic production since O in Las Vegas.

One of the advantages for families is flexibility. Groups can choose from seeing just the show, canapés and a show, dinner and a show, or a more elevated VIP experience. The show is appropriate for ages three and older, but guests should know that it runs 85 minutes with flashing lights, loud music and no intermission.

Along with a stunning experience, guests who attend LÚDŌ have access to the Wonder Bay section of the theme park before its scheduled opening in fall 2026, allowing them to experience part of the current developing theme park environment.

This is an ideal experience for multigenerational vacations because it can bring everyone back together after an exciting day spent pursuing individual interests.

Dining Beyond Traditional Theme Park Food

No family reunion destination is complete without a wide variety of dining options, and BON is moving beyond traditional amusement park fare. Rather than relying on casual eateries or quick-service counters, BON plans to include 25 restaurants offering everything from casual eats to elevated dining experiences. Plans include Asami, serving poke bowls and fresh sushi, and Tacoco, an open-air Mexican and seafood restaurant.

The range of foods available is ideal for large family groups, as there is something for everyone, from picky eaters to more adventurous diners. The variety is particularly useful for multigenerational groups with different schedules and dining expectations.

Beyond the Park Experience

Despite its spectacular nature, the theme park is only one piece of the larger VidantaWorld resort experience. The BON Hotel, which opened in December 2025, is a luxurious all-suite property located within walking distance of the park. The hotel offers a range of options that can accommodate families in unusually spacious multi-room suites. This means families sharing accommodations have plenty of space for privacy and relaxation.

Beyond the hotel and theme park, the 2,500-acre luxury resort offers numerous pools, spas, a mile of beachfront and three impressive golf courses, with two being designed by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus. The VidantaWorld resort also hosts Mexico’s premier PGA tour event – the VidantaWorld Mexico Open. Younger children can take advantage of wave pools, a lazy river and dedicated kids’ activities.

Live entertainment adds another exceptional option for multigenerational families. The resort hosts its own VidantaWorld Concert Series, with Michael Buble and Lionel Richie having performed in December 2025, and Michael Bublé in May 2026.

Everything here culminates into one destination that caters to every age, where different generations don’t have to spend every hour together. Instead, they have opportunities to explore their own interests while coming together for shared experiences, like dinner and a show.

A Different Kind of Theme Park

BON Luxury Theme Park isn’t attempting to be bigger, better or louder than other amusement parks. It’s establishing that a theme park vacation doesn’t have to feel so hectic.

BON and VidantaWorld offer an intriguing alternative for families who enjoy amusement park entertainment and rides, but hesitate at the thought of big crowds, long lines and rigid itineraries. Luxury is less about lavish amenities and more about flexibility and a range of choices that work for everyone. Travelers no longer have to choose between a luxury resort vacation and a theme-park getaway because BON is bridging that gap.
